Hopefully winter is nearly over as all fittening work for both horse and riders is well under way.
I had the good fortune to miss most of the November's cold whilst I was coaching in Indonesia at the South East Asian Games. The Indonesian team was agonisingly close to winning the gold medal, half a show jump pole ahead with the last horse coming into the last fence but sadly all was not meant to be! A wonderful performance by a really fantastic group of riders. Eventing in the Far East is really evolving. It was great to be able to help the Myanmar team in their first ever FEI result. The next goal is the Asian Games in Korea 2014 and the Asian Championships being held annually in Bangkok, Thailand.
Here at home at JGE, winter has been kind so far and everyone is raring to go, hoping this current cold snap this week is short lived. We have two new members of staff, Louise Rees and Sophia May who are here to compete this season, joining Sadie and Dan.
Dan is Badminton bound in the Grassroots final on Benji who belongs to Andy Castle.
I am eagerly awaiting the new season with my mares, Moorea and Wow Mystic Pink. Olympinks is coming back into work in March and hoping for a successful 2012 ahead.
